My name is Sara O'Connor and I live in southern New Mexico. I
am trained in classical ballet and I have a degree in fine art. My
path has always been that of an artist - and like many artists, I
find that I have what I like to call an "extended vocabulary" for
sensory perception. My love for art has led me on a journey
encompassing various disciplines and culminates here, with my
own energy therapy practice. This kind of work calls together
all of my artistic abilities: the intimate knowledge of physical
anatomy, the familiarity with the human body's style of
communication, and the fluidity I learned as a dancer; the
sensitivity to subtleties in light and color I have as a painter;
and the attentiveness to tone and sound quality I integrated as
a musician.
It was originally through caring for my own body that I came to
study denser modalities such as shiatsu and trigger point
therapy more than five years ago. During my years as a
bodywork professional, I realized that I was sensing details on a
much more refined level and that I was more naturally inclined
to work directly with human energy systems. Exploring these
avenues, I began to see that all of the skills I had as an artistic
person could be woven together to create a very sturdy core
for the perception and manipulation of subtle energies. Today, I
am a certified Reiki Master in the Usui system of Reiki, and I am
a certified Chios Master Teacher working within the Chios
system. I have worked with shamanistic and yogic techniques
to develop for myself a lifestlyle, will, and personal energy which
help me to be of service in the best way possible.
When it comes to my courses, I believe that energy healing
therapies are a spiritual process - and my students will
encounter this "angle" in their studies. What they will not find is
a relationship with any particular set of religious beliefs or
philosophies. It is of the utmost importance to me that
everyone with a desire to learn about or experience energy
field healing be able to do so without the rigid boundaries that
religious doctrine sometimes creates.
My style of work is a intuitive blend. The practical work I do
incorporates accupuncture meridians and vortices when
dealing with energy movement within the denser body systems,
and techniques derived from the Chios method when handling
the chakras and the auric layers. The work that I do in terms of
guiding others to create lifestyles which use energy efficiently
involve exercises that have been used for centuries by yogis
and by shamans.

Energy therapy is a very
intimate, subtle, and
introspective sort of work. It
requires a certain sense of trust,
for both the giver and the
receiver, and a comfort level
with the process. With this in
mind, I offer you a little insight
into who I am....
